We are very fortunate to have an excellent percussion department which serves a diverse student population. Student interests include the field of orchestral performance (applied music), jazz performance, and music education. The University of North Texas offers degree plans in all three areas of concentration.

One of the main goals of the University of North Texas Percussion Department is the preparation of every student for the professional world. This is accomplished through intense study of every aspect of the percussion idiom resulting in a multi-faceted performer. This, coupled with a world renowned faculty, including Ed Soph, provides one of the best opportunities for percussion education and performance in the world.
