  • VOICES PLAY GOLF IN KAANAPALI MAUI
IN THE BEGINNING: -- The show's producers, Charlie Schmitt and Patty Cunningham-Schmitt, had the idea of bringing 'signature' Classic Rock vocalists together to perform with one band. Mickey Thomas and the Starship band became the nucleus of the show. Word of the concept spread quickly and attracted Mike Reno of Loverboy, Bobby Kimball of Toto, John Cafferty of John Cafferty and the Beaver Brown Band, Survivor's Jimi Jamison, Dave Jenkins from Pablo Cruise, and Peter Rivera formerly of Rare Earth as the core group. As an aside, GOLF was the thing that linked the VOICES together -- they had all played golf together at some point in time.
