NEWS BRIEFS:

Editor's Note: News Briefs consist of quick updates on the lives and careers of Rockforever.com Member Artists, from deals and tours to sessions and vacations.

John Cafferty and Jimi Jamison

Rockforever.com Voices Jimi Jamison and John Cafferty are joining forces in this week's charity performances to benefit the Make a Wish Foundation in Memphis. The festivities feature several noted bands performing at clubs in and around Memphis, with Jimi and JC performing together. Peter Rivera and his Classic Rock All-Stars will also participate with a show at the civic arena. Jimi, JC, and Pete all took part in John Daly's Make A Wish Charity Golf Tournament in Memphis, too.

Speaking of Peter, he and his band performed this weekend in Monroe, Louisiana in a charity concert attended by more than 5,000 fans. The Classic Rock All-Stars used the opportunity to add a new twist to their show, featuring the introduction of celebrity impersonators paying tribute to Jimi Hendrix and Janis Joplin, among others. "It's a great mix," noted Peter, "because you have the best music of the 60's and 70's, including the guys who actually played it... it's a full show from music to sound and lights."

Mickey Thomas played a private party in St. Louis over the weekend, and heads to Florida for another private party next week. Rumor is that he and Rockforever GM Charlie Schmitt will hit the links during that trip. Meanwhile, Mickey enjoyed "trick or treating" in Lake Tahoe with his son - in the snow!

Joe Lynn Turner is recovering from his shows in Japan. He reports that his new CD "Holy Man," (released in July) has already become his most successful selling solo effort to date. Congratulations Joe.

Larry Hoppen is packing the house and studio for the up-coming move, while finishing the mixing of the "Voices" live performance recording from the WPLJ concert and also readying out back-up band for the up-coming Central American Tour. Nothing going on, right Larry?

Bobby Kimball

Bobby Kimball is tending to personal business in Louisiana after his Malaysian swing and before the Central American dates. He's kindly agreed to join Mickey Thomas and a few of the other Voices this week in an interview with the Associated Press about Rockforever.

Spencer Davis is still touring in Europe. Spence, if you are reading this, the worldwide cell phone doesn't forward to every country!

A memorial Service for our late Voice Ben Orr is scheduled for next week (Friday, November 10) at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland. Charlie Schmitt is scheduled to represent the Voices and Rockforever at the service.
