Glenn Hughes, veteran rock singer and bass player, has become the latest Artist to join Rockforever.com as a recording artist and "Voice" of Classic Rock. Hughes is an alumnus of legendary rock acts including Deep Purple, Black Sabbath and Whitesnake.
Glenn's reputation as a "voice of rock" began in the 1970's during his tenure as the frontman of the British group Trapeze. With Hughes at the helm, the band recorded three albums, "Trapeze," "Medusa," and "You Are The Music, We're Just The Band." The group developed a cult following that included Deep Purple founder Ritchie Blackmore.
In 1973, Glenn Hughes was invited with David Coverdale to become the co-lead vocalist of the super group Deep Purple. Together they recorded three critically acclaimed albums, "Burn," "Stormbringer," and "Come Taste The Band."
Hughes left Deep Purple in 1976 to pursue a variety of solo projects. However, he returned to the world of rock's super groups in 1986 to tour and record the album "Seventh Star" as the lead vocalist of Black Sabbath. 1989 saw Glenn reunited with David Coverdale to record Whitesnake's album "Slip of the Tongue."
Glenn Hughes has since recorded a variety of international solo releases, in addition to collaborating with noted rockers Pat Travers, Joe Lynn Turner, and Pat Thrall on a variety of recorded projects. Glenn has just released a new album "Return of Crystal Karma," and will embark upon a U.S. tour in support of the album in March.
