The Voices of Classic Rock and WPLJ Radio announced today that the Group will perform live next one week from today, Thursday, August 24 at WPLJ Day at Rye Playland. The WPLJ Concert will feature  r o c k f o r e v e r . c o m  Members Mike Reno (of Loverboy), John Cafferty (of John Cafferty and the Beaver Brown Band), Bobby Kimball (of Toto), Dave Jenkins (of Pablo Cruise), and Joe Lynn Turner (of Rainbow and Deep Purple).

"We're thrilled to bring our brand of straight-ahead rock and roll into the New York Market, and honored to be doing so with WPLJ," said  r o c k f o r e v e r . c o m  Manager Charlie Schmitt. "It's appropriate, our concert is nothing but hits and WPLJ's playlist is nothing but hits."

WPLJ is the ABC Radio Network's flagship station in the New York City Metropolitan area. As such it has a long and proven history of actually making or breaking new release and new bands by its simple radio airplay.

"In fact, you didn't have a hit until PLJ played your song," added Toto's Bobby Kimball. "When the played it occasionally you knew you'd have a Top 20 hit, and when they played it a lot, you were in the Top Ten...or should we say that if they didn't play it a lot, you didn't get into the Top Ten!"

The WPLJ date will not only feature new and live performances from  r o c k f o r e v e r . c o m  singers, but it will debut a new group of studio musicians as its back-up. "This allows us more flexilibity in our recording and Tour schedules, while affording our members a comfort level in the band regarding both recording and live concert opportunities. The WPLJ concert will also be recorded live to multi-track for integration into and up-coming digital and CD release.

In addition to the WPLJ concert, next week will feature four session days during which singers and musicians will rehearse for up-coming Tour dates, while also laying background tracks to take. An interesting feature of this rehearsal period will include a "live in the stuido" cybercast on  r o c k f o r e v e r . c o m  and Radio Woodstock.com, each site of which is cooperating with the other in generating user traffic. Further information on the cybercast will be forthcoming this week. Log on and listen!
