"This will provide a wonderful window into the inner workings of a rock group, from rehearsal to recording, back-up vocals to arrangements," said Voices Artist Larry Hoppen, who is also musical director of the back-up group. "Users will see how music pros learn and practice their own parts and then come together to create the magic. This evolution, and the ability to watch and hear it, is one of the truly special events in the music business. There is nothing quite like hearing the playback in the studio and feeling the session and the songs come together."
RadioWoodstock.com, in association with r o c k f o r e v e r . c o m , will mount a full audio cybercast of the Voices of Classic Rock rehearsals and recording sessions this week, live from Woodstock, New York. The sessions are in preparation for Thursday evening's WPLJ Concert in New York, an upcoming September tour of Central America, and a fourth quarter digital album release.
The Voices are rehearsing with a new back-up band during these sessions. The Starship band, which has traditionally provided back-up support, has their own summer tour dates which cause schedule conflicts with these upcoming Voices concerts. "So those who log-on will really see the creative progress from start to finish," noted r o c k f o r e v e r . c o m Manager Charlie Schmitt "as individual musicians join together to form a tight collaborative unit."
"Monday and Tuesday will feature the band working by themselves to polish the basic musical parts, finetune intros and finishes, practice solos, and coordinate background vocals," said Schmitt. "On Wednesday all or our artists - Larry, Dave Jenkins, Bobby Kimball, John Cafferty, Mike Reno, Peter Rivera and Joe Lynn Turner
- join with the band to add their unique sounds. With the caliber of these musicians, the result will be a sound true to the original."
The Rehearsal and Recording cybercast will take place live from the RadioWoodstock studios in Woodstock, New York. Programming is scheduled to begin at 2:00 P.M. on Monday, 10:00 A.M. on Tuesday, and 10:00 A.M. on Wednesday. Programming will feature a live audio feed from the studio, digital photos, and limited video highlights. Users may log-on to r o c k f o r e v e r . c o m or RadioWoodstock.com to access the feed.
