Paul Sings to Pam and Mike Reno |
|
Congratulations are in order - and sincerely presented from
ClassicRockNet and its Member Artists - to Mr. and Mrs. Mike
and Pam Reno, who were married this past Sat in a private
ceremony in their home city of Vancouver, British Columbia.
Mike Reno is the lead singer of the group Loverboy, the voice
of such hits as Working for the Weekend, Turn Me Loose,
and (his solo duet with Heart's Ann Wilson) Almost Paradise.
He is also a founding member of ClassicRockNet.com and The
Voices of Classic Rock.
In fact, the Voices of Classic Rock are pleased to have played
a behind-the-scenes unique role in the new life of Mr. and Mrs.
Reno. It was during a Voices of Classic Tour stop in Paris,
France this past April that Mike and Pam became engaged. And
of course, music played a special role in Sat's festivities
as Mike and his Loverboy co-founder Paul Dean serenaded Pam with
an acoustic version of their Top Ten Hit This Could Be The Night.

"We wanted the weekend and the wedding to just be a small and
quiet ceremony for family and friends," commented Mike, "I think
we were successful and it was beautiful." Although, when the
happy couple departed the reception they did so in the groom's
vintage 1957 Porsche Speedster Convertible, replete with "Just
Married" signs and dangling cans and ribbons. "A lot of times
we'll drive around town in this car, with our hats on just trying
to be a little low-key or keep to ourselves a bit," noted Mr. Reno.
"I guess its hard to be quiet or go un-noticed in a convertible
when you're dressed in your wedding suit, with your wife in her
wedding dress, and a bunch of cans dragging behind the car."
The Renos will enjoy a tropical honeymoon featuring golf and
fishing after completing a series of previously committed
Loverboy tour dates.
Congratulations again to Mike and Pam... may your lives together
be Almost Paradise.
